Prayer List of October, 2003

  1. New believer/seekers from CCYF Fall retreat &Grace Spring gospel meeting. - Please pray for and continue to care for new friends from these two events. May the Holy Spirit lead them closer to God everyday!
  2. Brother Jin Cheng and his job search - Please pray for Brother Jin Cheng and all other brothers/sisters in their job search efforts. While in wait, may the Lord give them peace of mind and joy.
  3. Sister Peggy's recovery - Please pray for a 79-year old Sister, Ms Peggy, who broke her left blade bone and right leg on last Friday when she tried to open her door for others and fell out of the stairs. Ms Peggy has been praying for Brother ZhiRen's song Jesse and wife even without ever seeing them. Let's share our love in Christ and pray for her recovery.
  4. Pray for May's mother - She is recovering from a minor stroke; pray for the Lord's love and faithfulness so that she can be completely healed soon;
  5. Pray for family churches in China and their evangelical efforts - Also please pray for brother JianZhou Zhang, Steven, Chaoming, and sister Phoebe in His service.

    The following are excerpts from Pray for China email list:

  6. Pray for Church in China - Guangzhou International Christian Fellowship (GICF) received their permit after procedural delay. In several larger cities, foreign Christians conduct their services in the meeting hall of the hotels, but local Chinese are forbidden to attend. Let us remember the ministry of these churches; some are large with 2000 people and full-time pastoral staff.
  7. More evangelical efforts - China government will no longer exclude religious groups from providing social services. This will give certain legal protection for many ministries now involved in all areas of community caring. Christians face much competition from Buddhist relief agencies that have greater visibility. Pray that local churches will also show the love of God visibly.
  8. Pray for abandoned girls - Midwives and doctors are on trial for a massive baby smuggling in the poorest Guangxi province. Girl babies were bought for $24 and then sold in cities for 10 times more. "People don't take the girls home or abandon them at the hospitals." We are purchased with a great price through Jesus. Let us pray for the millions of abandoned girls and their adopting foreign families.
