Prayer List of July, 2003

  1. May the Lord use our brothers/sisters to help pick up new Columbia Students and introduce them to Christianity;
  2. May the Lord bless the Gospel work done by our brothers/sisters in China and grant them more spiritual gifts: Brother JianZhou, Brother Steven, Brother Chaoming, Sister Phoebe;
  3. May the Lord bless Sister Miaoying and little Christopher to be strong and healthy;
  4. May the Lord bless the souls of those American soldiers and Iraqi civilians who were killed by terrorist attacks, also bless their families to have peace and hope
  5. 16 people died in a major earthquake in Yunnan province are in desperate need of food and supplies, but rescuers have been forced to travel by horseback due to badly damaged roads. There are many churches, both government and house churches there, as well as Christian social workers helping in the community projects. We remember them in our fervent prayer.
  6. In poverty-stricken southern China, sons are gods, and daughters a burden and lead to selling of girl infant. With no pensions and scant social welfare, sons are a farming family's only old-age security. Daughters are expected to marry off, often in another village. We remember many young female believers from the villages who are receiving Bible training and faces great opposition from their families.
  7. The number of Internet users on the mainland increased by 15 percent during the past six months to 68 million. The 40% of the users are aged 18 to 24. Web surfers spent an average of 13 hours online weekly, 10 hours of which playing games. There are more Internet users than Chinese Christians, how do we reach them for Jesus?
  8. A massive financial aid program designed to help 10,001 under-privileged high-school graduates realize their dreams of pursuing a university education. Each student will receive 240 USD yearly. Of the country's 13 million undergraduate students, 10% cannot afford daily living. We pray for more ministries among all the colleges to meet their spiritual needs too.
