CCYF News Letter
1/1/99 -- 6/30/99

Dear Brothers and Sisters,

Greetings in the Lord!

It has been a few months since the last newsletter. As the staff member responsible for newsletter, I apologize for the delay. One reason for the delay is that I feel difficult to write an official newsletter since I have not participated in CCYF gathering lately due to my new job. But something is better than nothing.

-- Staff Election

The biggest agenda in this month is CCYF staff election for 7/99-6/00. I praise God that the old CCYF staffs have done such a wonderful job. Guan-Yun has been such a faithful and dedicated Chairman. He has contributed a lot to make our Bible-Study program systematic and set a good example to serve the Lord for young brothers and sisters. Though we hope he can continue, he may not be available next year. May God richly reward him and other staff members as their labor in the Lord is not in vain. We really hope that new persons could step out and stand up to take various positions. We are glad to announce that we have elected a new staff of our Fellowship in 6/22/99 meeting. They will serve for the term of July 1999 - June 2000:

Please pray that God uses His own servants so His holy work at CCYF not only continues but also expands as we strongly believe that God has a wonderful plan for CCYF to reach out to many young Chinese students and scholars.

-- Activities

About 60 people gathered in Jianzhou's BBQ and open house last month. While people without children went hiking in the famous Seven-lake mountain, people with children enjoyed the speech and sharing given by Sister PeiLin from Wyckoff Church and Tan Rui and Wang Bo from Tian Cheng Church, and Brother Xu Su, our frequent speaker. Four coworkers (Guan-Yuan, Danjie, Weiqiang, Peiji and Tai-Ying) took part in the annual Mid-Atlantic MC coworker reatreat at the end of March. Coworkers from New Jersey churches have shared the importance of dedicated disciple training and challenged us to be FAT (Faithful, Available, Teachable). I myself have learned a lot from coworkers from other churches and every year all the participants were encouraged by this retreat. This year, we have successfully promoted "Quest of Life" gospel camp. About $1520 additional contribution was collected to cover subsidy. May God be glorified. 16 adults from our Fellowship and over 400 people from 20 churches and fellowships participated in this camp. Things to be joyful from what I know: Chen Hua-cheng has been converted. He gave a very moving testimony for God's grace in Him while he forgot to bring medicine with him. Many of us including myself have prayed for him sincerely. God answered our prayer. Li Jie and her husband, Mr. Bian, have desire to seek God's help, know more about Bible, and join CCYF. Many new Christians like Ren Zhong, Chen Jun have been re-edificated. Ren Zhong was the first person to give testimony and encouraged many others to testify for the Lord. Many of the new-converted shared their salvation experience with tears. He Ke-ning has done an excellent job as a group leader. Ren Zhong and Chen Hua-cheng were baptised in CCF right after they came back from the camp. Please join us to pray and bless them as they just start the new life.

-- CCYF Website and Missionaries

I am so happy that our website http://www.ccyf-ny.org went to public In April. As a new website, it has been visited over 2000 times so far. At our website, you can check CCYF program, read our newsletters and read all issues of our magazine 'Mustard Seed'! Hey, you probably will find your articles there! This is not possible without the hard work and contributions from Brother Zhu Danjie and Yue Meiliang. Please help us to promote this site, especially to those old CCYF friends no longer coming to CCYF. Our site will be used for the On-line registration of this year's AFC Family Conference. The CCYF Webgroup is working harder to improving and adding more 'food and spices' into the site. Currently they are putting more and more photos into the site.

We would like to think many who have shared the financial needs of CCYF. May God be glorified in the financial area too so God's work won't be limited by money. We are proud that a big portion of our contribution will suppot three of our missionaries: Li Ling, Li Tai-ying, and Li Zhongming. As I heard, Li Lin has successful start at 'Great-Commission Center'. He has emerged as a popular speaker among Chinese scholars. Tai-ying has been a dedicated Bible teacher at CCYF and she has trained many new believers like Chen Jun, Shang Min, and Ren Zhong. We are so happy to hear she will start part-time Ph.D program in theology semiary soon. Please continue to pray for them.

-- Old and New Friends

It is an honor to CCYF as all CCYF members were invited to the wedding ceremony and banquet of Shang Min and Charles. About 30 CCYF friends attended their wedding at Northern Jersey. All the best wish from all of us. We are also so happy to hear that our old friends Lin Wei and He Qun have been the major coworkers in starting the newly-borned 'New Life Alliance Church' at Queens as they just got a baby girl recently. We would like to welcome all of our new comers in CCYF. Many became Faithful members: Ren Zhong, Chen Hua-cheng, Zong Yan-yan, He Ke-ning, Chen Sen and Tang Ning-yi. Please continue to pray for a pianist for CCYF. Unfortunately to our Fellowship, Aliya is still only available during her school break since she will continue her study for Ph.D. program. Brother Ye Pei-ji has came back from GuangZhou, he has shared his experience of preaching gospel in China. Pei-ji is curretly attending summer theology seminary D.C.. Ren Zhong's wife and baby went back to China. Zhou Wei's family is expecting a baby. Li Jie's daughter and husband Bian Xing-yuan joined us recently. Wu Wei returned to London, and her sister became a Christian during a brief visit in New York. Please continue to pray for Brother Yang Quan-Guo as he is deciding whether he should stay here or go back to China.

In the coming months, we will have many outings for you to enjoy. In July 4 long weekend, we invite you to join us at Long Island for Christian retreat. August 6-8, we would like to invite all the married people to go to the AFC family conference as the new staff tried to strengthen family ministry in CCYF. Chaoming and myself are coworkers for this year's AFC confernece. Please keep in touch with us for summer outings and open-house activities.
